I was pleasantly surprised by Panda Express as the food was nowhere near as bad or bland as I thought it would be.
I would only try a few Panda Express items again.

Overall, I thought the food at Panda Express was okay compared to meals I’ve had at Chinese restaurants.
While Panda Express isn’t exactly super authentic, I still enjoyed the same flavors I got used to at the hole-in-the-wall spots I visited in NYC.
However, I wish Panda Express had more menu options. Aside from starters, it seemed like all you could choose for a meal included rice, chow mein or super greens and some sort of meat dish. The umbrella of Chinese cuisine (or even Chinese-inspired cuisine) is so broad and made up of a ton of unique and rich dishes that it would have been nice to see more options.
If I had to buy another larger plate, I would choose the chow mein again with honey walnut shrimp, chicken breast with green beans and beef with broccoli.
Panda Express doesn’t beat the Chinese restaurants I always go back to, but it was still quite a tasty adventure.
